High speed pursuit resulted in recovered vehicle

A Toyota Avanza was hijacked in Johannesburg CBD during the late evening hours on 7 July. The client immediately called Matrix Recovery Service to request the recovery of their vehicle. Matrix Recovery Service dispatched both ground and air crew at 21:37 and a lookout was placed with the Gauteng Flying Squad. The vehicle was positioning in Paarlshoop, Johannesburg, and moved to Vogelstruisfontein, Roodepoort. 18 minutes after the hijacking had been reported; Matrix Recovery Service spotted the vehicle after which a high-speed pursuit and shootout ensued. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was recovered in Vogelstruisfontein, Roodepoort. Matrix Recovery Service stood down at 22:59 after handing the vehicle over to a member of the SAPS.
