Vehicle recovered even with difficult access to the position of the vehicle

A Matrix Vehicle Tracking customer called into the National Operations Centre and confirmed that a vehicle was hijacked in Umkomaas, Durban. The only information provided was that the incident happened and the vehicle details. The matrix Vehicle Tracking recovery teams were immediately dispatched to search for the vehicle.

The Matrix Vehicle Tracking recovery teams moved closer to the position of the vehicle in Mashiwase, Durban when they noticed a vehicle on fire. As they tried to find their way through a rural areas and a valley it was confirmed it was the hijacked vehicle that the suspects set alight. The vehicle was unfortunately in an area where the fire truck would have taken hours to reach the vehicle. The Matrix Vehicle Tracking recovery teams did their best to douse the fire and re-confirmed that the roads and area was of such nature that the fire truck would not be able to reach the vehicle. The SAPS and the Matrix Vehicle Tracking customer were directed to the scene of the incident and the scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
