Senior Manager - Inventory / Logisticslent

Overview:

The position is based at the company‘s Midrand Offices in Johannesburg. The company has offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town and is part of a Group of Companies listed on the JSE. The group has other subsidiaries in Europe, Middle East, Australia and USA.

The nature of the job includes both the Inventory AND Logistics aspects.

Inventory Management includes:

• Inventory forecasting
• Procurement of inventory
• Costing of inventory (including Bill of Materials)
• Management of inventory valued at over R15m
  • Consignment stock forms a large portion of inventory value
• Warrantee management
• Management and analysis of inventory valuations, reconciliations etc.
  • Serial tracking is used
• Understanding of export procedures (documentation etc)

Logistics Management is also an important part of the responsibility as:

• There are large sales volumes
• There are Multiple Distribution Channels
  • There are Multiple Sales Models
  • There are Multiple Consignment Locations
  • Distribution of both Local and Export

The product is technical in nature within
the Communications / Telematics industry. (ie not a Fast Moving Consumer Good – FMCG position).

Personal Profile

Results orientated, deadline orientated, attention to detail is critical, disciplined, financially competent and administratively strong profile of person is required.

Qualifications Required

Microsoft Office Competence

• Complete confidence in Excel, large spreadsheets, pivot tables.
• Working knowledge of Access

Experience:

People Management Experience (Manager level) - Minimum of 3 years

Job Experience – Minimum of 5 years within an Inventory / Logistics environment (including the use of serial tracking of goods).

System Experience – Exposure to sophisticated financial / inventory software. Company uses the ERP Navision financial software.

Experience within Cellular Industry would be an advantage.
